Osaka Street Wanders - Japan Photo Archives

Osaka is arguably the best place in Japan, or even the world, when it comes to having a good time. I stayed in an apartment in Naniwa-ku, which was a convenient 13-minute walk to Dotonbori - the center of the action. Though I hadn't spent much time in this city before, I was very familiar with its reputation for having the best food in the country and an amazing car scene. That was enough reason for me to spend the majority of my trip in Osaka and discover what the area really had to offer.

I spent a lot of time wandering these streets. I think I went to Namba every single day while I was in Japan. Even after seeing the same sights multiple times daily, they never get old. My favourite way to travel is on foot. I love walking. I could walk for hours, and I did exactly that. On average I walked about 10km every day. It's not only the perfect way to explore a city, but walking also helps offset all of that delicious food. Walking for an hour or two means that I can eat lunch 3 times, right?

A trip to the used auto parts stores is always necessary.
We stumbled upon a street where there was an Up Garage, a Super Autobacs, and a Yellow Hat.
We checked 4 different stores but there wasn't anything that caught my eye.
It's a tough habit to break, but I've finally been able to stop buying random things I don't need.
I spotted this R32 while walking back to the apartment from Up Garage.
It was hidden in the back of a Nissan dealership but I peeked around the corner and spotted it.
Wandering around Japan is the best; it's almost impossible to go an entire day without seeing at least one cool car.
Of course, I had to pay a visit to 7-Eleven. A day is not complete without at least one stop at the konbini! I have a theory that it's impossible to travel more than 10km in any direction without eventually finding a convenience store. Honestly, I wish the rest of the world would follow this example. The food that they're serving at corner stores is better than most restaurants in Vancouver. Not to mention they're open 24 hours - what more could I ask for?
